Woman dies following fatal collision in Arclid

A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing a death by dangerous driving

Cheshire Constabulary are appealing for witnesses and footage following a fatal collision in Arclid.

Police were reported to a collision on the A534 Spark Lane, near to the junction of Moorhouse Lane at around 9am this morning (Saturday 7 February).

The collision took place between a blue Fiat 500 and a white Land Rover Defender.

The 29-year-old female driver of the Fiat was pronounced dead at the scene. She was from Congleton.

The 77-year-old male driver of the Land Rover, also from Congleton, has been arrested on suspicion of causing a death by dangerous driving.

Detective Sergeant Iain Condliffe, of the Serious collision Investigation Unit, said:

“We are currently conducting an investigation into the full circumstances surrounding this tragic incident and as part of our enquiries, we would like to hear from any witnesses who have not already spoken to police.

“The same goes for anyone with any relevant dashcam or CCTV footage of what happened.
