Kevin Bostock, aged 66, from Uttoxeter, has been sentenced to 22 years for child sexual abuse after admitting offences against multiple victims.

Stafford Crown Court handed Bostock a 19-year jail sentence, with a three-year extended licence period, following his admission to four counts of rape of a child and one count of sexual assault of a child.

His offending became known when a victim came forward in the 2010s, with more victims subsequently reporting similar abuse, allowing officers to gather substantial evidence.

Despite initially denying all charges, Bostock confessed to five offences on the second day of his trial in July.

He will also meet Sex Offender Notification Requirements for life and is subject to restraining orders to protect the victims.

Detective Sergeant Sophie Boden and Detective Constable Sophie Smart from the Child Protection Team praised the victims' bravery throughout the investigation and trial.

“Bostock subjected his victims to a prolonged campaign of sexual abuse that has caused immeasurable long-term distress," said the detectives.

They emphasized the sentence sends a message that past abuse will be pursued, with victims supported throughout the process.

The police urge anyone affected by child sexual abuse to report their experiences, ensuring support and justice.
