Two more charged after fight and stabbings in Longton

Two more men have been charged, after two people were stabbed during a fight in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent.

Afrim Mhillaj, 39, of Fenton, Stoke-on-Trent, has been charged with two counts of Section 18 – grievous bodily harm with intent, one count of violent disorder and one count of possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

Bresmir Peci, 32, of Hertfordshire, has been charged with two counts of Section 18 – grievous bodily harm with intent and one count of violent disorder.

It comes after police were called to The Strand at 11.45am on Saturday 6 June, after a report of a group of people fighting with weapons in the street.

Two men, who were injured in the incident, were taken to hospital, but have since been discharged.

Mhillaj and Peci appeared at Hatfield Magistrates' Court on 27 June and have both been remanded, ahead of their next appearance due at Stafford Crown Court on 27 June.

Three other men were previously charged: Aldo Hala, 22, of Goldenhill, Stoke-on-Trent, Konstandin Kola, 28, of Penkhull, Stoke-on-Trent and Leo Mhillaj, 40, of Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent. They have all been remanded, ahead of their next appearance at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on 6 July.
