A Newcastle-under-Lyme family has paid tribute to their son following his death, as investigations into the circumstances continue.

Emergency services were called to Orme Road just after 5pm on Friday, 4th September, where a 20-year-old man was found with injuries consistent with a stab wound.

The man, Jamie Evans from Stone, was taken to hospital but sadly passed away.

Jamie’s family described him as a "wonderful son," "loving brother," and "doting uncle," noting his warmth, kindness, and infectious sense of humour.

Their statement highlighted his passion for cricket and fitness, which reflected his determination and zest for life.

The family expressed thanks to those who tried to help Jamie, and said he would be deeply loved, profoundly missed, and never forgotten.

Police have arrested two men, aged 20 and 22, on suspicion of murder, and a 19-year-old on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.

All suspects remain in custody for further questioning.

Anyone with relevant information can contact the police via a specially created Major Incident Public Portal or report anonymously through Crimestoppers.
