Teenager arrested after a stabbing in Stoke-on-Trent
Police are investigating following an incident in Hanley
A 17-year-old boy has been arrested following an alleged stabbing in Stoke-on-Trent.
Police were called to Upper Market Square in Hanley at 5.50pm yesterday (Tuesday 18th August), where the teenager was assessed by paramedics at the scene and then taken to hospital.
The teenager, who is from Stafford, was subsequently arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed article in a public place and affray.
A section 34 dispersal order has been granted in Hanley town centre, giving officers extra powers to disperse individuals to prevent potential harassment, alarm, distress, or crime.
This order remains in place until 6pm tonight (Wednesday 19th August).
Police are collecting information to assist the investigation and are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who possesses any CCTV, dashcam, or doorbell footage to get in touch.
