Firefighters successfully extinguished a wildfire at Stoke-on-Trent's Chatterley Whitfield Nature Reserve, suspected to have been set deliberately.

Emergency services were called to the nature reserve just before 5pm on Sunday, 23rd August.

Four fire appliances arrived at the scene to tackle a blaze approximately 500 metres by 100 metres in size.

The fire was put out using main jets, backpacks, and beaters.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire has been identified as deliberate, and Staffordshire Police are now handling the investigation.
