Teenager charged after fatal collision in Stoke-on-Trent
Alex Woodward, 17, died after incident on Dawlish Drive in Bentilee
A 17-year-old boy from Longton, Stoke-on-Trent, has been charged in connection with a collision that led to the death of another teenager.
Police were called to Dawlish Drive in Bentilee at about 6.05pm on Friday, 17th October, after reports that a teenage boy and a car had been involved in a collision.
The boy who died has been named as 17-year-old Alex Woodward.
He was taken to hospital but sadly died the next morning, Saturday, 18th October.
The 17-year-old male, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, failing to stop after a road accident, failing to report an accident, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, and using a vehicle without third party insurance.
He is due to appear at North Staffordshire Justice Centre today, Tuesday 21st October.
Investigation continues
A 20-year-old woman from near Werrington, who was previously arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and perverting the course of justice, has been bailed with conditions.
Two other boys, aged 17 and 16, who were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, have been released under investigation.
