Stoke-on-Trent man admits rape and voyeurism after filming woman undressing
Jaroslaw Adamkowski, 42, will be sentenced next month after pleading guilty to rape and two counts of voyeurism
A man from Stoke-on-Trent has pleaded guilty to raping a woman and secretly recording her undressing.
Jaroslaw Adamkowski, 42, appeared at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on 2nd October, where he admitted to the rape of a woman and two counts of voyeurism — recording a private act without consent.
Police said Adamkowski raped the survivor in February this year and had previously filmed her in a state of undress on two occasions in January. The videos were discovered after officers examined his mobile phone.
The survivor reported the abuse in February, prompting an investigation that led to Adamkowski’s arrest and charge. He initially denied the offences but later changed his plea to guilty after police gathered significant evidence and with the support of the victim.
Adamkowski has been remanded in custody and is due to be sentenced at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on 3rd November.
Detective Sergeant Razwana Nasheen, from the rape and serious sexual offences unit, said: “I’m pleased that we’ve been able to secure this result for the survivor who has been incredibly brave in coming forward and speaking to us about the abuse she suffered.
“I want all survivors of sexual offences to know that we are here for you and we are determined to seek the toughest possible punishment for those responsible for these heinous crimes.”
Police are urging anyone who has experienced sexual offences to contact them directly or indirectly, confident that they will be taken seriously and treated with dignity and respect.
