Aaron Michael Edwards sentenced to prison for possessing 291 indecent images
A 42-year-old man from Stoke-on-Trent, has been sentenced to prison after police found nearly 300 indecent images of children on his mobile phone.
Aaron Edwards was sentenced to one-year-and-eight-months in prison at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Thursday 19th February.
He admitted to making indecent photographs and pseudo-photographs of a child.
The investigation began in April last year, when officers went to a location in Stoke-on-Trent and arrested Edwards.
Upon seizing his phone, officers discovered 291 category A images of children.
Detective Constable Anna Walklett from the child exploitation team said: "When Edwards was arrested, he admitted the phone was his, but denied having indecent images of children on it.
"We worked tirelessly to gather evidence against Edwards, which led to him later admitting the offence in court.
"We remain committed to tackling child sex offences across Staffordshire and will take robust action against those responsible."
