A man has been charged with murder, following a crash in Staffordshire almost 10 years ago.

It comes after a silver Ford Mondeo collided with a man who was walking along Shobnall Street on 20 July 2015.

Mohammed Aziz, from Burton-on-Trent, who was 50 at the time, was taken to hospital with extensive injuries.

But in 2022, Mohammed died as a result of his injuries in hospital.

Nadeem Akhtar, 46, of Shelton, Stoke-on-Trent, has now been charged with murder.

He is due to appear at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre today (Wednesday 23 April).
