A 30-year-old man from Shelton, Stoke-on-Trent, has been jailed after being caught with cocaine hidden in a concealed compartment in his car.

Etmond Margjoni was sentenced to two years and four months behind bars at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Tuesday (27th January) after pleading guilty to possession with intent to supply cocaine.

Margjoni was stopped by Staffordshire Police’s organised crime team in Albert Street, Basford, last October, leading to a search of his vehicle. Officers discovered cocaine deals worth an estimated £1,200 hidden in an intricate compartment under the window controls of the driver’s side door.

After uncovering the drugs, officers presented Margjoni with the evidence, and he was charged with possession with intent to supply.

Speaking about the sentencing, the major and organised crime team said:

“Our teams are working proactively every single day across Staffordshire as part of our efforts to disrupt the people and gangs responsible for drug supply in local communities. Contraptions in car doors are not going to stop us.”

Staffordshire Police continue their ongoing efforts to dismantle drug-dealing operations across the region.
