Over £435,000 awarded to enhance problem-solving initiatives in Staffordshire
Funds to boost efforts addressing community priorities, focusing on knife crime
The Staffordshire Police, Fire & Rescue and Crime Commissioner’s Office has secured over £435,000 in funding to support targeted problem-solving activities and strengthen partnerships across the county.
This financial boost will enable local policing areas to increase proactive patrols and address pertinent issues such as knife crime, aiming to foster a lasting change in communities.
Chief Inspector Scott Gidman from Staffordshire Police emphasised a multi-agency approach for effective change, acknowledging that collaborative efforts last year significantly reduced serious violence and knife crime.
Utilizing a data-driven model, the funding will channel resources towards areas identified as most in need, ensuring strategic policing and partnership efforts yield maximum benefits.
Staffordshire Police, Fire & Rescue and Crime Commissioner Ben Adams acknowledged the devastation caused by knife crime despite accounting for a small percentage of total crime in the region.
Adams noted that preventing crime is most effective when organisations unite, sharing insights and tackling underlying causes, and this funding will empower evidence-based initiatives making substantial differences in communities.
The funding marks a pivotal step in maintaining safety, ensuring collaborative efforts continue to protect Staffordshire's residents.
