A new action plan has been launched in Staffordshire to address anti-social behaviour, promising to engage with communities and partners to make the area safer.

The strategy outlines measures for early intervention, protection, pursuit of offenders, and preparedness to manage anti-social behaviour effectively.

The plan involves identifying trends using intelligence and community insights and aims to improve risk assessment and support for victims, especially the vulnerable.

Officers intend to pursue offenders with interventions that could lead to prosecution, focusing on repeat offenders through case management.

Superintendent Alan Lyford, force lead for anti-social behaviour, highlighted the efforts to combat this issue, noting the issuance of 236 community protection warnings, 180 dispersal powers, and 122 community protection notices between July 2024 and July 2025.

Superintendent Lyford said: "We do not underestimate the impact that ASB can have on local people and businesses."

The Staffordshire Commissioner for Police, Fire & Rescue and Crime, Ben Adams, welcomed the initiative, emphasising the importance of supporting victims through resources like the ASB Harmony service.

Adams said: "Tackling the anti-social behaviour that can damage our communities is a priority for me as Commissioner."

Anthony Screen from Staffordshire County Council also stressed the detrimental effects of anti-social behaviour on community confidence and safety.

Screen said: “Anti-social behaviour damages more than property; it chips away at people’s confidence, pride and sense of belonging.”

Residents experiencing anti-social behaviour are encouraged to report incidents to Staffordshire Police by calling 101 and can seek support from ASB Harmony at 0330 1757 258.

These collaborative efforts aim to create a safer and stronger Staffordshire that benefits everyone.
