Serial motorbike thief jailed for three years in Stoke-on-Trent
Ian Pawlowski faced multiple charges including theft and fraud
A serial motorbike thief has been sentenced to three years in prison at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court following a spree of criminal offences in the area.
Ian Pawlowski, 44, from Ball Green, Stoke-on-Trent, was convicted on nine charges, including two counts of motor vehicle theft, burglary, fraud by false representation, and possession of cannabis.
Series of offences
Pawlowski operated across Stoke-on-Trent, Newcastle-under-Lyme, and Biddulph between May and September of the previous year.
His crime spree involved stealing a Honda VRF from Peter Cartlidge Grove, where officers arrested him after he attempted to flee.
Cannabis was discovered in his possession during custody.
He also took a Lexmoto Adrenaline motorbike from Liverpool Road, Newcastle-under-Lyme.
Pawlowski proceeded to steal a bank card from a Vauxhall Corsa, attempting to use it at a petrol station.
He broke into Powerslide Motorcycles in Stoke-on-Trent, stealing two motorbikes: a Honda CBR600 RR5 and a KTM 530 EXC.
Pawlowski also took a Land Rover Discovery, causing significant damage before abandoning it.
He was further seen on CCTV driving a stolen Skoda Octavia in Biddulph.
Law enforcement response
Officers compiled comprehensive evidence resulting in Pawlowski's conviction despite his attempts to plead innocent.
PC Jonathan Martin from the City Problem Solving and Intervention Team commented on the widespread impact of Pawlowski's actions on the community.
Martin stated, “Pawlowski has no doubt caused widespread emotional, financial, and mental damage to a number of people living and working locally in Staffordshire."
The police continue their efforts to deter prolific thieves targeting local communities.
