Police say drivers caught taking photos of M54 crash will be contacted
Officers making the area safe again following the incident clocked 144 drivers using their phones behind the wheel
Police say 144 drivers were caught using their phones to take pictures and videos of a motorway crash in Staffordshire earlier this week.
Officers with West Mercia Police were called to the M54 westbound near junction two for Featherstone on the morning of Thursday 17th July where a lorry had jack knifed.
Using a phone while driving is illegal, and can result in six points on a driving licence and a £200 fine.
The force said all of the drivers, including 20 HGV drivers, would be contacted by officers.
