Police investigate spree of thefts from vehicles in Newcastle-under-Lyme
Local authorities urge residents to secure vehicles and valuables.
Police in Newcastle-under-Lyme are investigating a series of thefts from cars and vans in recent days, with tools and clothes reported stolen from vehicles in the area.
Incidents began on 31st October, when masked youths on pedal bikes targeted an unlocked Mini on Vale View at about 2am, stealing various items including a phone charger and loose change. On 1st November, another theft occurred on Inglewood Drive, involving a Citroen Berlingo van and resulting in the theft of a Milwaukee tool.
Chief Inspector Cliff Goodwin from the local policing team advised residents to remove valuables from vehicles and park in well-lit areas or near CCTV to reduce the risk of being targeted.
