Murder investigation launched after woman dies in Staffordshire

Police are continuing to question a man on suspicion of murder after a woman from Staffordshire has died.

The force arrested a 50-year-old man from Rugeley after the incident in Devereux Gardens in Great Haywood last night (29 January).

A woman, who was inside the property, was taken to hospital. She later died.

The man has also been arrested on suspicion of controlling and coercive behaviour.

Police are now appealing for witnesses.
