Monkey dust worth an estimated £1.5 million has been seized by officers from a van in Longton, Staffordshire.

The van was parked on a street off Weston Coyney Road on Thursday (19th December) when officers conducted a warrant.

Staffordshire police officers say they received intelligence that the van was linked to the supply of the class B drug.

Inside they found around 25kg of 'monkey dust', a synthetic cathinone.

Superintendent Phil Bryan, who leads Staffordshire police's dedicated monkey dust operation, Operation Rivent, said: “This continues to be a force priority for us.

“We are determined to take robust action against anyone found to be involved in the supply of monkey dust in Staffordshire, while also helping the often vulnerable users of this substance to receive appropriate support from partners and the wider community.”
