A 23-year-old man from Rugeley has been sentenced to two years and four months in prison for offering to sell cocaine on Snapchat.

Reece Caven was sentenced at Stafford Crown Court after admitting to being concerned in the offer to supply cocaine.

In January, detectives from the major and organised crime team found Snapchat messages on a phone seized during a search, which revealed drug offers from Caven in the area.

The investigation led officers to Caven’s home, where they arrested him and confiscated the phone used for his illegal activities.

Caven, who was on licence from prison at the time of his arrest, pleaded guilty at a hearing on 6th February at Stafford Crown Court.

According to police efforts, more than 350 individuals have been arrested and 121 charged in Staffordshire last year, resulting in offenders receiving a combined total of 439 years in prison.
