A man has been arrested in Stoke-on-Trent after police seized around £10,000 in cash, a suspected drug line phone, and offensive weapons during a targeted operation.

On Thursday 15 May, officers stopped a van in Hartshill as part of an ongoing investigation into class A drug supply across the city.

Following the stop, police searched a nearby address, where they discovered the cash, suspected drugs, and four knuckle dusters.

A 31-year-old man from Stoke-on-Trent was arrested on suspicion of:

Possessing criminal property

Being involved in the supply of class A drugs

Possessing an offensive weapon in a private place

He has since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

The arrest is part of Operation Target, a major crackdown on serious and organised crime in Staffordshire. The operation, launched earlier this year, focuses on tackling crimes such as drug dealing, knife crime, illegal firearms, human trafficking, and sexual exploitation.

Police say they are working closely with local forces to disrupt criminal networks and keep communities safe.
