Man arrested in Winsford after attempted burglary
A 34-year-old man remains in police custody
A 34-year-old man was arrested in Winsford following an attempted burglary early on Tuesday morning.
Police responded to reports of suspicious activity on Saxon Crossway at approximately 12.10am on 17th March.
Upon arrival, officers from Northwich Local Policing Unit discovered a man in the garden of an address, wearing a balaclava and carrying a torch.
The man was arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary and is currently in custody.
Inspector Paul Heatley of Northwich LPU addressed the fears that such incidents may cause:
"We understand the concern that this incident is likely to cause, and I hope that the swift arrest will provide some reassurance to local residents and the wider community.
"It's important to remember that incidents of this nature are rare in the Winsford area, and we are doing all we can to ensure that those responsible are held accountable for their actions.
"Anyone with information which may assist our investigation is urged to contact us."
