£1.5 million of road improvements begin in Kidsgrove
It'll include upgades, repairs and resurfacing.
Today marks the beginning of a £1.5 million roadworks project in Kidsgrove, set to make big changes to Gloucester/Newchapel Road.
Staffordshire County Council is behind the upgrades, which will see repairs and resurfacing, along with fixes to the mini roundabout and drainage systems.
To safely carry out the work, the road will be temporarily closed each day from 9am to 3pm for repairs, and again overnight from 8pm to 6am for resurfacing.
Detours in Place
Drivers will find detours in place, rerouting traffic via Whitehall Avenue, William Road, Galleys Bank, and White Bridge Road.
Access to properties along the affected route will be kept open as much as possible.
Patrick Allen, Cabinet Support Member for Highways, is calling on residents to avoid parking in the work areas, which will help the crews get the job done without delays.
He also noted how cooperation from the community can make a big difference in keeping disruption to a minimum.
