Newcastle-under-Lyme paedophile convicted of child sexual offences
He's due to be sentenced in June
A paedophile from Newcastle-under-Lyme has been found guilty of a number of child sexual offences, including touching without consent and attempting to incite a child into sexual activity.
At Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court, Joseph Riley, 44, of May Bank, has been found guilty of:
- attempting to cause or incite a child to engage in sexual activity
- intentionally touching a child in a sexual manner without consent
- three charges of making indecent images of children
- and two charges of distributing indecent images of a child
Detective Sergeant Katie Shufflebotham thanked the victim and their family for their bravery.
“They have shown considerable strength in supporting the investigation over the last four-and-a-half years” she said.
Riley has been remanded in custody.
He'll appear for sentencing at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on 10 June.
