Fire crews are working to extinguish a blaze in a three-storey building in Stoke-on-Trent.

Firefighters were called to Stafford Street in Hanley shortly after 12.40am today (Thursday 9th July) following reports of a fire.

Six crews, alongside two aerial ladder platforms, are on the scene as efforts continue to control the flames and prevent the fire from spreading to nearby structures.

Operations involve the use of main jets and hose reel jets from multiple streets including Stafford Street and Foundry Street.

The fire has resulted in a cordon affecting Stafford Street, Lamb Street, Trinity Street, and Foundry Street, which is likely to cause disruption throughout the morning and afternoon.

The blaze has impacted the building's first floor, second floor, and loft space.

Gas and structural engineers, along with Staffordshire Police, are also present at the site.
