Two extra bobbies on the beat for Stoke's town centres
The officers will prioritise community safety
Stoke-on-Trent now has two new dedicated neighbourhood police officers patrolling its town centres.
PC Warren Dooley and PC Matthew Whiston have been appointed to increase police presence and work closely with Stoke-on-Trent City Council's anti-social behaviour (ASB) team and other local partners.
These appointments are part of broader efforts to enhance community safety and continue reducing crime and ASB in the city.
Focused activities in areas like Fenton, Shelton, and Tunstall have already achieved approximately a 20% reduction in crime and ASB.
Inspector Rebecca Price of the Stoke-on-Trent South Local Policing Team stated, "PC Dooley and PC Whiston will be visible in areas with high footfall."
Residents and businesses are encouraged to approach these officers to discuss any local concerns.
"The partnership builds on the city’s strong track record on community safety and reinforces the efforts we’re already undertaking to further reduce crime and ASB," said Councillor Duncan Walker, cabinet member for safer and resilient communities at Stoke-on-Trent City Council.
