Crews fight fire in Cannock Chase overnight

A large number of firefighters have been working overnight to tackle a fire on Cannock Chase and people are being asked to keep windows and doors closed and avoid the area.

Crews say they have been working hard to contain the fire since it was reported at around 2.30pm yesterday (Wednesday 5 August).

The fire has now been surrounded.

A significant number of firefighters have worked to keep the area as safe as possible throughout the night.
