Councillor steps down from Staffordshire County Council role due to family bereavement
Martin Murray will choose the new Cabinet Member for Finance and Resources
Councillor Chris Large has resigned as Staffordshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Finance and Resources and the Group Leader for Reform UK due to a bereavement in his family.
The acting leader of the council, Martin Murray, has praised Large for his significant contributions to the council’s budget and efficiency review.
Murray expressed his gratitude and support for Large’s decision, saying, “Chris has done a tremendous job… leading work on the council’s budget and efficiency review. I’d like to thank Chris personally for everything he has done and offer my wholehearted support to his decision. Family must come first.”
Murray also encouraged people to wish Large well and allow him the time and space needed to focus on his family.
As acting leader, Murray will soon appoint a new Cabinet Member for Finance and Resources.
Councillor Large will continue his responsibilities as County Councillor for Brewood.
