Police seek help to identify man after early morning incident

Detectives have released CCTV images to help identify a man following an arson attack in Congleton.

The incident occurred at approximately 2.50am on Saturday 27th June, when a petrol bomb was thrown outside an address on Clayton Avenue.

Thankfully, only minor damage resulted from the attack and the fire was quickly extinguished.

Enquiries are ongoing, and detectives hope the CCTV images will assist in identifying the suspect.

Detective Sergeant Tom Binder said:

“This appears to be a targeted attack, and we are committed to doing all we can to identify the person responsible.

"I would urge anyone who thinks they know the identity of the man in the CCTV images to get in touch.

“The same goes for anyone who believes they have anyone with any information which may aid our investigation.”
