Stafford man arrested as officers find coca cola can stuffed with monkey dust

A man has been arrested after police officers found a coca cola can stuffed with suspected monkey dust in a Stafford garden.

Officers found the can in the Highfields area yesterday morning (5 May).

A Staffordshire Police spokesperson said "Officers carried out a search off Somerset Road, in the Highfields area, shortly before 11am yesterday (Tuesday 5 May).

"A cola can was thrown by an individual into a nearby garden.

"Officers retrieved the can and discovered suspected class B drugs, monkey dust, compacted into the can."

Officers then searched a property off Somerset Road and found more suspected monkey dust, cannabis, scales, snap bags, and around £2,000 in cash.

The drugs are thought to be worth £3,000.

A 29-year-old man from Stafford has been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class B drugs, being concerned in the supply of class B drugs and possession of criminal property.

He's being questioned in custody.
