Third arrest made in investigation into Cannock area fires
Police continue inquiries following deliberate fire incidents
Authorities have arrested an 11-year-old boy from Cannock on suspicion of attempted arson with intent to endanger life, following a series of fires in the Cannock, Rugeley, and Hednesford areas.
The arrest was made on 10th August, as part of ongoing inquiries into the recent spree of fires that have caused concern in the local community.
The boy will be questioned while in custody.
Two additional boys, aged 13 and 12 from the Cannock area, were arrested over the weekend and have been bailed with conditions as investigations continue.
Sergeant Shelley Groves from the Cannock local policing team expressed the commitment to resolve the situation: “We’re actively carrying out enquiries following a significant spate of fires in the local community recently, which I know has caused plenty of concern."
Some incidents are still under fire investigation, but authorities confirm several fires were started deliberately.
The police are actively working to identify those responsible and urge anyone with information to come forward.
