A man who drove into a teenage boy in a targeted attack, leaving him with serious injuries, has been jailed for ten years and banned from driving for over 11 years.

Brwa Abdulla, 19, from Shelton, Stoke-on-Trent, admitted causing serious injury by dangerous driving and was found guilty of Section 18 – wounding with intent.

The court heard how on 4 August 2025, Abdulla was sat in his blue BMW on College Road in Shelton when he spotted his victim.

He drove at speed towards him and hit him at the junction with Beresford Road.

Abdulla fled the scene, leaving the boy with serious injuries that required hospitalisation.

He went back to the scene later that day and was arrested.

Detective Constable Spencer Arnold, of CID north, said: “This was a targeted attack which left the victim with serious injuries.

“As well as being jailed for a decade, Abdulla has also been disqualified from driving for almost 12 years.

“I am glad he has received a significant custodial sentence for his reckless and dangerous actions.”
