Appeal after fatal collision in Wombourne

Police are appealing for information, after a man died following a collision in Wombourne.

Officers were called just after 8am today, to a report of a collision on Wombourne Park, near Bridgnorth Road, involving a lorry and a pedestrian.

West Midlands Ambulance Service and Midlands Air Ambulance also attended.

Despite the efforts of emergency services, the pedestrian, a man, suffered serious injuries and died at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially-trained officers.

The driver of the lorry stayed at the scene to help with inquiries.

Anyone with relevant CCTV or dashcam footage, who has not already spoken to police, can contact them, by calling 101, or via Live Chat on their website, quoting incident number 150 of 29 June.

They are particularly interested in anyone with dashcam who may have been passing through the area, around the time of the collision.
