Three in custody and XL Bully on the loose following gun shots in Sheffield
Two men and a woman are in police custody following a firearms discharge in Sheffield and an XL Bully is on the loose in the area.
Last night South Yorkshire police received a call that a gun had been fired at Daniel Hill Street in the Hillfoot area of Sheffield.
A few hours later, at they were called to reports of a road traffic collision at Liberty Drive in the Stannington area of Sheffield.
Reports suggest that a motorbike and a silver Golf collided and that shots were fired at a man, and armed officers who attended found evidence of a firearms discharge nearby.
South Yorkshire Police are currently treating the incidents as linked.
As a result, a man aged 37, has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and a 39 year old woman has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm in connection.
Another man is also in custody on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
They are also pledging for locals to be vigilant for an XL Bully that could be loose following last nights incident.
The armed officers that attended Daniel Hill Street in the Hillfoot area of Sheffield were faced with an XL Bully that became aggressive.
Officers fired a shot towards the dog and it fled the scene. It is unknown if the dog was injured.
