Searches in Rotherham field end without finding body of Sheffield murder victim
The body of 26 year old Teresa Shephard has never been found
Searches taking place in Rotherham in connection with the murder of a Sheffield woman have come to an end, without anything being found.
26 year old Teresa Shephard went missing in June 1995, with her ex, Worksop man Peter Turner, subsequently being jailed for life over her killing.
Police vans and excavation crews arrived earlier this week in a field off Piper Lane in Aston, Rotherham, as part of efforts to locate Teresa's remains.
However no body or remains have been found.
Dave Stopford, head of South Yorkshire's Major Incident Review Team, said:
"Teresa's family have been made aware of this update and our thoughts are with them as they continue to live with the indescribable pain of not knowing where Teresa’s remains are ."
"They continue to ask for their privacy to be respected at this difficult time."
