Witnesses sought after five swans shot with "catapult and ball bearings" in Rotherham
The cygnets were targeted over the weekend on Chesterfield Canal

Police have launched an appeal for witnesses after five young swans were shot in Rotherham by what is suspected to be a catapult and ball bearings.
The incident happened between 7pm on September 5 and 2pm on September 6 in the Browns Lock area of Chesterfield Canal.
The young cygnets have been treated at a swan rescue, with two said to be in a serious condition.
Anyone with information is being urged to get in touch with South Yorkshire Police on 101.
