Some young people in South Yorkshire restricted from playing outdoors due to sun cream poverty

It's feared some young people living in poverty across South Yorkshire & North Derbyshire 'don't feel comfortable enough' to play outdoors this summer.
That's because many don't have any sun cream - to protect themselves from getting burnt in the hot weather.
Serena Van Der Meulen from the Hygiene Bank in Doncaster says a lot of people they help struggle in the warmer months:
"It's not just the sun cream - but if you're feeling unclean and you can't wash your clothes or put deodorant on, it really is an inhibiter for both work and socials; so for adults and children alike.
"Sun cream is a huge problem for us.
"Very rarely do we have enough funding to buy any, and if we do, it's expensive.
"This means a lot of children can't go out to play or play sport.
"We see this a lot; men especially, try and avoid buying sun cream because they're trying to put food on the table for their families and then they end up burnt & in a lot of pain."
