South Yorkshire holiday seekers already looking at summer destinations for 2027

As summer starts to fade in South Yorkshire & North Derbyshire - we're being told people have already shifted their focus onto where they can go in 2027.

We've been speaking to travel agents about the current trends they're seeing.

Emma Andrews is from the Holiday Village in Chapeltown.

She says more of us have started making choices about where to jet off to next summer:

"There isn't as many opportunities as there used to be for a last minute, cheap getaway.

"It tends not to happen as often anymore.

"So, I think it's important to start looking early and get something locked in.

"Especially if you're travelling with children - try and get one of the free child places - there's usually lots available.

"Try and get one of those secured as soon as possible.

"People are now starting to think about having something to look forward to next year.

"So, we're already seeing enquiries coming in for July and August next year - so people are definitely forward planning.

"Because there has been so much demand, and such little stock with holidays, the pricing hasn't really shifted a massive amount.

"This means people haven't been able to get a bargain - perhaps like they used to.

"People are looking to get away long-haul as well.

"We're seeing an uptake in people wanting to go to Cancun or the Dominican Republic.

"People are looking to go that bit further away and make the most out of their money."
