Snooker fans in South Yorkshire & North Derbyshire tell us it's 'extra special' that the World Championships have ended up staying in Sheffield.

The tournament is due to begin tomorrow - just weeks after a new long-term deal was agreed to keep it at the Crucible theatre.

Callum Ferguson from Doncaster makes his way to the steel city every year for the annual event.

He went to a memorial service - held for legendary snooker commentator John Virgo yesterday - at Sheffield Cathedral:

"There were some great stories.

"It was packed; there was about 600 people inside Sheffield Cathedral.

"I think I'll take it to the grave with me.

"It was a beautiful memorial service for a true legend of the sport.

"I think he's probably up there with Ronnie O'Sullivan for what he's done for snooker.

"He will be truly missed."

The 79-year-old passed away back in February of this year.
