Witness appeal after gun fired on Sheffield street
Nobody was injured during the incident - just after midnight on Fieldhead Road
Police are appealing for information after a gun was fired towards a home in Sheffield just after midnight this morning.
Officers were called to Fieldhead Road to reports shots had been heard about five minutes before.
No injuries have been reported in connection with the incident.
Detective Chief Inspector Simon Cartwright, from South Yorkshire Police's Armed Crime Team, said: “This is an appalling attack on our community.
“I am incredibly thankful that no-one was injured, but all too often this is not the case when we deal with a firearms discharge.
“We will work around the clock to bring those responsible for gun crime to justice, but we cannot do it alone. This happened in a built up area and I believe someone must have seen something.
“If you have any information about this incident, even if you think it may not be significant please get in touch. If you do not want to speak to the police, contact Crimestoppers.”
