A South Yorkshire woman - whose daughter witnessed Harvey Willgoose's murder at All Saints Catholic High School - tells us it's left parents there feeling 'anxious' every day.

The 15-year-old was stabbed to death at the school in Sheffield earlier this month.

Since then - Rebecca Phillips - from Sheffield - has launched a petition to try & reduce knife crime across all schools in the UK - which's had nearly 40,000 signatures in just over a week:

"I feel like we need security within schools to protect our children.

"There's nothing at the minute - and we're pushing our petition to try and get security in all UK schools.

"Things like metal detectors and bag scanners will stop children from bringing weapons into school.

"We met up with Harvey's family and grandparents recently, which was emotional, but they're behind what we're trying to do.

"My daughter was caught up in Harvey's murder.

"She witnessed more than what she should have within the school.

"She's having to have long-term counselling, so this has affected so many children and parents of that school.

"We're not settled with our children going back to school; we're anxious as parents, because this could potentially happen again with the high-risk of knife crime amongst young people.

"This is a change that's going to affect generation after generation. If we don't crack it and get security measures in schools, then this will get worse and it will happen again.

"Tackling knife crime on the streets could be very, very difficult, but I feel like we can tackle this in schools.

"We can make schools more secure with the implementation of better safety and security measures."

A 15-year-old boy has since been charged on suspicion of Harvey's murder - & has been remanded into youth detention accommodation until his next scheduled court appearance in April.
