Two suspected fuel thieves arrested in Sheffield

Two men were arrested in the area of Hall Park Mount in an early morning police operation

Two men have been arrested in Sheffield on suspicion of fuel theft after a van was intercepted by police.

In the early hours of this morning (February 9) officers received a report of fuel being stolen from a generator at Hall Park Mount.

It is alleged that the suspects, wearing black clothing and balaclavas, arrived at the location in a white Transit van and siphoned fuel before being disturbed by security staff.

A description of the vehicle was shared with police who quickly located, intercepted, and stopped the van.

The suspects attempted to escape on foot but were swiftly detained and arrested on suspicion of theft.

The two men are currently in police custody.
