Sheffield Eagles have parted ways with Head Coach Craig Lingard, who has been in charge for the past two seasons.

The club says it wants to go in a new direction with the men's team next season, with changes also coming in for rugby league's Championship.

Eagles are yet to name his replacement.

Lingard joined the club from Castleford in December 2024 and led the club to the Championship playoffs last campaign, improving on his 11th placed finish in his first season.

In a statement released via the Eagles website, the club wrote: "We would like to place on record our thanks to Craig Lingard for his contributions and efforts across the past two seasons, and we wish him all the very best for the future."

"Craig came to Sheffield Eagles in very difficult and unusual circumstances and dealt with those circumstances very professionally and much to his credit.

"The club will provide a further update in due course in respect of coaching appointments ahead of the 2027 Championship season."
