Forensics help catch 'prolific' burglar who targeted Sheffield home

A prolific burglar has been sentenced to two years and four months in prison after forensic evidence linked him to crimes committed in Sheffield.
Keenan Goddard, 25, targeted a residence on Richmond Park Crescent on 5th March, stealing a push bike, a handheld game console, and cash from a metal tin.
Officer managed to place him inside the house after finding his fingerprints on the cash box.
CCTV footage also captured Goddard outside the property.
Goddard, of Staniforth Road, plead guilty earlier this month and was sentenced at Sheffield Crown Court on March 25.
He also faced charges including two counts of interfering with a motor vehicle and two counts of theft from a motor vehicle.
Detective Sergeant Tom Jordan, of South Yorkshire Police, said:
"Goddard has proven himself to be an opportunistic thief and he has repeatedly shown absolutely no regard for the harm his offending has caused to the lives of the people he targets.
Offending such as his will not be tolerated and I'm pleased he will now be spending time behind bars."
