A second person has been arrested as Police investigate the death of a 91-year-old in Rotherham.

Betty Clark was found with severe injuries in her home in Kiveton Park last year.

A 36 year old has been arrested on suspicion of murder and released under police investigation.

A Police statement said:

"Detectives have today (Thursday 30 April) made a second arrest as their investigation into the death of 91-year-old Betty continues.

"A 36-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder. He has been bailed pending further enquiries.

"On Thursday 11 September 2025, Betty, also known as Elizabeth Clark, was found with serious injuries in her home on Peveril Close, in the Kiveton Park area of Rotherham.

"She was taken to hospital where she received treatment. Betty sadly died as a result of these injuries on 12 November 2025.

"An investigation was quickly launched by detectives in our Major Crime Unit to determine the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.

"Early enquiries indicted that Betty was unfortunately a victim of theft the day before she was found with her injuries in September."

"A 47-year-old man, who was arrested on suspicion of murder in December, remains on police bail at this time.

"Detectives are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the Kiveton Park area between 10 and 16 September 2025."

Detective Inspector Adam Watkinson, who is the senior investigating officer and leading the investigation, said:

"It has been nearly six months since the death of Betty and we have been working extensively to find answers for her loved ones.

"Betty was extremely loved by her family, friends, and was well known in the local community. She is missed by many.

"This second arrest is a significant development in our investigation, but our enquiries remain on going and we are still appealing to anyone who may have any information, no matter how small you may think it is, to come forward."
