Second boy charged with attempted murder following Woodhouse stabbing

A second boy has been charged with attempted murder in connection with a stabbing in the Woodhouse area of Sheffield.

The teenager, aged 17, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested in connection with an incident in Market Square on the night of Wednesday 18 March, when a 14-year-old boy was taken to hospital with injuries thought to be life-threatening.

He has since stabilised and is recovering well.

The 17-year-old will make his first appearance at Sheffield Magistrates' Court today (Friday 27 March).

Another 17-year-old boy who has also been charged with attempted murder in connection with the stabbing made his first appearance before magistrates on 24 March.

He was granted conditional bail ahead of his next appearance at Sheffield Crown Court in April.
