RSPCA appeal for information after six kittens found dead at Sheffield golf club
The grim discovery was made in woods near the Dore and Totley golf club
The RSPCA has launched an appeal for information after six kittens were found dead in woodland at a Sheffield golf club.
Animal welfare officers made the grim discovery earlier this year at the Dore and Totley club, with the three week old animals being found in a 'decomposed' state.
RSPCA Animal Rescue Officer Danielle Drury, investigating, said: “This was a very distressing discovery. The bodies of six kittens were found together in a wooded area of the golf club.
“The kittens were only around three weeks old and were heavily decomposed, suggesting they had been there for several days. They were black or black-and-white.
“It is unusual for six kittens of this age to be found together in these circumstances, and we are keen to establish what happened to them.
“We are investigating whether anyone was in the area on 25 August when they were found and saw anything that could assist our enquiries. The discovery was made at at around 11.50am
"Anyone with information is urged to contact the RSPCA appeal line on 0300 123 8018, quoting reference 01890082.”
