Man on trial over Rotherham murder dies in custody
The 48-year-old passed away while on trial at Sheffield Crown Court
A man on trial over a murder in Rotherham has died while being held at HMP Doncaster.
48 year old Martin Hoyland, who was accused of the killing of 52 year old Paul Sharp in Rotherham in 2023, was being tried at Sheffield Crown Court.
Police were called to Redscope Crescent on October 25 2023, finding Mr Sharp year old with serious injuries.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have confirmed Hoyland passed away in jail on November 28, with a file being prepared for the coroner.
Nobody else is being sought in connection with Paul's death.
