The Chancellor 'confident' people in South Yorkshire will notice 'more money in their pockets' soon
Rachel Reeves is predicting that inflation rates will decrease in the next few months
The Chancellor is promising that people in South Yorkshire & North Derbyshire will notice 'more money in their pockets' by the time spring arrives.
Last week - it was confirmed that inflation went up slightly in December of 2025 - compared to the previous month.
Rachel Reeves is confident it'll drop back down soon - to help with things like the cost-of-living crisis:
"Inflation is due to come back down to its target in the next few months.
"In every year since Labour came into office - wages have risen faster than inflation.
"The statistics that recently came out suggest that in Barnsley and Doncaster - wages are rising at a faster rate than the national average - which is good news for South Yorkshire.
"In April, on average - people will be getting £150 off their energy bills; prescription charges are being frozen for the second year in a row; and rail fares are being frozen for the first time in 30 years."
The Conservatives argue the recent rise in inflation is down to 'economic mismanagement' by the Labour government.
