Pedestrian injured after collision in Barnsley

A pedestrian has been seriously injured during a collision in Barnsley.

South Yorkshire police were called at around 10pm on Saturday to reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian on Sheffield Road, Worsbrough.

A 50-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the car remained at the scene and is assisting police with their investigation.
