Sheffield Wednesday have confirmed the signing of Liverpool winger Kieran Morrison, on a season long loan deal.

The 19 year old, who spent part of his youth career Manchester United, has also played for Northern Ireland at the U17, U19, U21 levels - getting his first senior cap earlier this year.

He made his Owls debut in the 1-0 home defeat to Bradford City last night.

Speaking to the Sheffield Wednesday website, Morrison said: “It’s a massive club with great history and even better fans, so I'm glad to get it over the line and I'm excited to play in front of everyone.

“Everyone knows that the rebuild is now and I want to be part of it. It's a great squad in a competitive league but I feel like we can do really well in this league and I want to help in any way possible.

“Henrik was speaking to me and just gave me his idea of what he wants to happen, and he sold it to me. I've just wanted it to come ever since.

“He wasn't really talking about my footballing ability, he was just talking to me as a person. He wants me to become a better person, so that was eye-opening because I didn't expect it from the gaffer.

“A lot of gaffers don't do that, but the only thing he was saying was, at the end of the loan, what type of person would you want to become.

“He's a great guy and I can't wait to play under him.

“I want to show to the fans and show to the gaffer and show to everyone why the gaffer wanted to sign me and why I belong here.”
